George Huma

MSC, CPA, CS -Founder & CEO

Currently the Founder and CEO of Jostar Consultant Limited. Over 20 year’s experience work experience in finance and accounting, human resources and management. Specialty in business support in areas of strategy, taxation and business development. Has assisted many foreign entrepreneurs in setting up businesses in Kenya and currently involved in providing consultancy to a number of local companies in diverse industries including a tours and Travel Company, Logistics Company, a chain of restaurants among others. Also involved in capacity building of a number of MSME’S (Micro Small and Medium sized enterprises)

 

Work experience including working for Air- France/KLM as Regional Administration and Finance Manager for 10 years where he had responsibilities in six countries in the larger eastern Africa, Regional Finance Manager at ABC Expats in Nairobi, Kenya. Also involved in the setup of fast forward freight in Kampala, Uganda and Consultancy work resulting in establishment of Nigeria Integrated Social Housing Cooperative in Abuja, Nigeria.

Member of the institute of public accounts of Kenya (ICSPAK ), institute of public secretaries of Kenya (ICS) ,institute of human resources management of Kenya(IHRM))  and Kenya institute 0f Management (KIM) , among others. Diverse management trainings both locally in  Kenya  and Europe  including Program of Management development (PMD)  at both Strathmore business School (SBS) Nairobi , Kenya and Gordon Institute of Business Sciences (GIBS) , University of Pretoria , Johannesburg , South Africa .A strong believer in ethics and Christian values.  Approaches any assignment with the belief that

 Has over 33 years of experience in Insurance and Financial Services.  He has been responsible for development of insurance products, retirement benefit schemes, annuities and investment products. He has worked for the leading local and international companies during which he rose to the level of assistant general manager Group Business Development. He has served in various capacities including in: investments, pensions administration, group business operations, sales and business development.

He holds Bachelor of Commerce degree and Post Graduate professional course in Insurance and is an Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute of London (UK). He is certified trainer for Trustee Development Program Kenya and has served as member of the Pension and the Group Life technical committees of the Association of Kenya Insurers.He has been a member of theGroup Life Standing Rating committee established by the Insurance Regulatory Authority. And has also been involved in several industry training programs as a resource person. He has also attended several training programs both locally and internationally .
